About Studio 1482
Eight artists, endless possibilities.
On the grounds that all illustration must first be art, and that it must always communicate in a thoughtful and appropriate manner, Studio 1482 was created with the intent to change the business of illustration. Pushing forward on a foundation of reportage illustration, our direction is based on visual language; eight distinct languages of marks, graphics, design, color and line—each with our own translation of an idea. Founded in 2004, Studio 1482 is the collaboration of eight working artists with this common goal.
As independent illustrators we offer eight voices, each with their own personal point of view—providing illustration for the advertising, editorial, publishing, institutional and film communities, on a one-on-one basis, building direct relationships with our clients. As a studio we are able to combine our varied backgrounds and expertise to amplify the direction of these possibilities. When the project calls for two heads, or eight, rather than one, we bring the desired experience to the task with an established history of collaboration.
