Studio 1482 Members Contribute Drawings to UN Healthcare Manual

lethargic_031.jpgThree Studio 1482 members, Eddie PenaMargaret Hurst and Veronica Lawlor, have contributed their time and drawings to illustrate a Health Care manual for a group working with the United Nations. The manual is being designed and produced by a studio called Design in Kind. Eddie’s illustrations were on infant illnesses and what symptoms to look for. His newborn son got his first experience of living with an illustrator – posing for drawings –  see above and below - convulsionfit_01.jpgAnd Eddie’s wife Rosanna also got into the illustrations - mothernursing_04.jpg  Here are some illustrations on post-partum healthcare created by Margaret Hurst - 334_05_wait-before-resuming-sex.jpgThe one above is about how long to wait before resuming sexual activity after giving birth. The one below is about eating leafy green vegetables to regain your strength… 334_04_leafy-veg.jpg Veronica Lawlor did some drawings on the topic of diabetes. Among them, one illustrated the importance of regular visits to a healthcare professional -regular-medical-care.jpg- and another was about how important it is to keep your skin clean, especially if you suffer from diabetes -keep-skin-clean.jpgTo see illustration used for communication to help people get and stay healthy is a wonderful thing. That’s what illustration is all about – a way to illuminate, to share ideas, and to communicate when words aren’t enough, or when languages are not understood. Studio 1482 was happy to contribute to such a worthy cause.
