Studio 1482 Rings in the New Year!

2008 brings with it exciting prospects and the arrival of our revamped Studio 1482 portfolio site. As we look back on the past year our reportage work is spreading and our commissioned illustration continues to appear in new places each month. Greg Betza has been getting plenty of attention in the editorial world, Michele Bedigian has had her hands full on several projects across many industries, Eddie Pena was asked earlier in the year to create a series of drawings that were later used as a backdrop to a national convention, while several of the members were approached through out the year to lend their illustration work to the labels of wine makers across the country. Charlotte Noruzi released her self-published children’s book, Grow, Watermelon, Grow and has seen great success and is looking forward to what the new year brings. Both Veronica Lawlor and Margaret Hurst saw each of their work acknowledged at nationally judged shows this year. Veronica was showcased in San Diego, California, where her video short, “Collective Innervation”, was exhibited at the Art of Digital Show, held at the Lyceum Theater Gallery. Margaret’s fabric art piece, “Elephant Run,” was selected as a finalist and exhibited in the 2007 International Quilt Festival “Quilts: A World of Beauty,” show in Houston, Texas. Just over a week into the new year and we are digging in for 2008.

With the launch of the new site we also introduce reportageillustrators.com, the hub for all things Studio 1482. This blog is a portal to all the projects, individual blogs, work and news for Studio 1482 members. As always you can find our portfolio work at studio1482.com, our gallery work at gallery1482.com, and in depth thoughts and musings at each of our blogs listed to the right. We welcome any comments and look forward to the year ahead. On behalf of Studio 1482 we wish you a safe and happy New Year.
